shades [of blue]

blue tinted shades and black barred windows
guarding the eyes of my lone soul tonight
and the clock strikes the noon
by the light of the moon
there’s no reason in rhyme to be found
and the dreamer wakes
to a fresh blown nightmare
shivers and shakes
as she cries there alone
with the darkest shades
and cold curtained blinders
hiding the light she is home
she is home
and the sun well is shines
can you see it m’boys?
and night is all in your head
shatter the glass let the air rush in
shatter the shades’ dark vacuum
well the night you see but take off your shades
and the day has always been here
won’t you sleep my girl my dream-bitten lass
won’t you lay your weary head down?
and the voice of the muse whispers in your ear
and she’ll chase poor queen mab away
and in this the night take off your dark glasses
I swear child that it’s now the day
